# Міні-мульт (СБОО, 71 item) — source-locked historical data package Date: 2026-07-11 Status: **IMPLEMENTABLE: YES** as a reproducible historical reconstruction of the Zaitsev methodology in the wording of the 2016 Ministry of Defence of Ukraine manual. It is not a psychometrically validated Ukrainian adaptation; see the verdict and limitations below. This document re-adjudicates `research/mini-mult-u-validation.md` (commits `656c428` «docs: document Mini-Mult-U scoring conflicts», `7b9e8a2` «docs: adjudicate Mini-Mult-U implementation evidence») and assembles the source-locked historical package needed to implement the 2016 Ukrainian Міні-мульт in the app. --- ## 1. Primary source (single, internally consistent) **N. A. The manual provides in one publication: the 71-item Ukrainian text, the identical key printed twice (UA p. 56 and RU p. 74 of the print edition), the K-correction formula **and** the integer lookup table, sex-specific raw means/SDs, the linear T-formula, a profile sheet, and full interpretation text. The 71 Ukrainian items (printed source text, manual pp. 54–56) Extraction: PyMuPDF over PDF pages 53–55 (0-based); all 71 items contiguous, none missing; no stray trailing quote on item 71 in this extraction. Item 70 contains the source grammar slip «Ви часто розчаровується». The runtime form documents this provenance and normalizes only that unambiguous person/number error to «Ви часто розчаровуєтеся в людях.»; meaning and scoring polarity are unchanged. Internal sanity check passed: no item is keyed both true and false on the same scale. --- ## 5. These two cells are reproduced identically across all located reproductions of the method for 40+ years; they are part of the canonical printed procedure, not a transcription artefact of this manual. **Operational decision for implementation: use the integer lookup table** (it is the manual's own scoring aid, matches the historical profile sheets, and is confirmed by an independent worked example: K=10 → +5/+4/+2 on Hs/Pd/Ma, studfile.net/preview/400986/page:22). ## 6. Matching Russian SMOL reproductions confirm the numbers, not their population provenance. The app therefore attributes the table to the 2016 manual rather than claiming a documented 1981 norm sample. Consistency proof that M/δ apply to **K-corrected** raws: Pt raw maximum is 16 yet male M(Pt) = 13.57 — only sensible against the corrected range 0–32 (raw + K, K ≤ 16). The manual states this explicitly: «Переведення "сирих" балів у стандартні значення (після додавання відповідних значень за шкалою (К))…». No published raw→T lookup table exists for this methodology; the profile sheet («Профільний лист», manual p. 59) embodies the same linear transformation graphically. The manual publishes no rounding rule for T; report T rounded to the nearest integer and keep fractional values internally. ## 7. Validity rules - The manual itself prescribes a qualitative gate: after scoring L, F, K «робиться висновок про ступінь відвертості респондента та достовірності його результатів. Якщо показники за цими шкалами задовільні – процес обробки даних продовжується» (p. 57). Its interpretation section defines **high = above 70 T, low = below 40 T** for every scale. - The 2016 interpretation text treats high control-scale T values contextually rather than as automatic invalidity: - **L T > 70** suggests favourable self-presentation and strict adherence to social norms; education, profession, and testing situation matter; - **F T > 70** requires caution because confidence decreases as F rises, while genuine nonconformity, distress, or unusual perception can also elevate it; - **K T > 70** suggests guarded, socially desirable responding and a flattened profile. - A separate historical SMOL manual (therapy.irkutsk.ru/doc/smol.pdf) supplies explicit raw invalidity cutoffs: **raw L > 4 or raw F > 6 → data unreliable, retest**. The app labels this as a secondary convention. Crossing either raw cutoff suppresses only the narrative summary; numeric raw, corrected, and T scores remain visible. ## 8. Interpretation notes (manual pp. 60–70, condensed) Profile bands: **< 40 T low, 40–70 T normative corridor, > 70 T high** (matches the 2023 papers' 0–39 / 40–70 / 71+ bands). “High” is a profile description, not a diagnosis. - **L (брехні)** — sincerity. High: presenting oneself in a favourable light, strict adherence to social norms (interpret in context of education/profession). Low: openness, self-critical reporting. - **F (достовірності)** — response validity. High: nonconformity, protest reactions, anxiety with a plea for help, or deliberate distortion — the higher F, the less reliable the profile. Low: reliable protocol. - **K (корекції)** — defensive control. High: denial of difficulties, concern for social approval. Low: frankness, self-criticism. Moderate elevation is prognostically favourable. - **1 Hs (іпохондрія)** — high: astheno-neurotic tendencies, slowness, passivity, poor tolerance of change, somatic preoccupation. Low: little health concern, greater activity and adaptive coping. - **2 D (депресія)** — high: sensitivity, anxiety, timidity, diffidence; conscientious but indecisive. Low: low anxiety, activity, sociability, a sense of strength and energy. - **3 Hy (істерія)** — high: conversion-type defence, escape into illness, demonstrativeness, shallow labile affect, craving attention. Low: introversion, scepticism, less spontaneity in social contact. - **4 Pd (психопатія)** — high: social maladjustment, aggressiveness, conflict-proneness, disregard of norms, unstable mood. Low: conventionality, identification with social status, stable interests, attitudes, and goals. - **6 Pa (паранойяльність)** — high: rigidity, overvalued ideas, resentment, imposing one's views, conflicts. Low: distrust and vigilance alongside flexible thinking and willingness to change views with the situation. - **7 Pt (психастенія)** — high: anxious-doubting character, anxiety, indecision, obsessive doubts. Low: decisiveness, behavioural flexibility, low anxiety, confidence in decisions. - **8 Sc (шизоїдність)** — high: heightened sensitivity with emotional coldness and interpersonal detachment. Low: absence of marked emotional coldness and detachment. - **9 Ma (гіпоманія)** — high: elevated mood, activity, energy, broad but unstable interests. Norms cross-check: the manual's M/δ table matches psylab.info **digit-for-digit for all 11 scales × 2 sexes plus the age row** (22 value pairs). The K lookup and formula match all reproductions, and an independent worked example reproduces the lookup values. The manual's own UA key (p. 56) and RU key (p. 74) are identical — internal double-print check passed. --- ## 10. Adjudication of the previous audit's blocking claims The previous audit (`research/mini-mult-u-validation.md`) concluded «C — implementation is blocked». Claim-by-claim: 1. **«The 2023 Mini-Mult-U papers' key conflicts with the 2016 manual/SMOL key.»** Confirmed as an observation — but it blocks only a *2023-paper-keyed* implementation. The 2023 key is demonstrably corrupted (duplicate `3,3,42`; polarity flips of plainly favourable items). The canonical Zaitsev key is unambiguous: the 2016 manual prints it twice identically and four independent reproductions confirm it (§9). 2. **«The 2023 papers publish no raw→T conversion or K-correction, so their T scores cannot be reproduced.»** Confirmed — and irrelevant to the canonical methodology, which publishes the complete conversion (K rules + lookup + sex-specific M/δ + linear T formula) in the 2016 manual, reproduced identically on psylab.info and in SMOL materials. 3. **«Combining 2023 wording with the 2016 key would be an unvalidated hybrid.»** Correct — and avoided entirely: this package uses the 2016 manual's own item text, own key, own correction, own norms. One source, no hybrid. 4. **«Formula vs integer-lookup discrepancy for K-correction is unresolved.»** Resolved as a documented versioning decision: the lookup deviates from round-half-up in exactly two cells (0.4K at K=1 and K=3), is the manual's own printed operational rule, and is canonical across the 40-year publication history. Implementation uses the lookup (§5). 5. **«Reproducibility is not validity; the manual has no Ukrainian norm re-standardization.»** Correct as a validity limitation, but it does not prevent a reproducible historical reconstruction. The 2016 manual is a MoD of Ukraine publication prescribing this exact Ukrainian form, and MoH Order № 464 (2006) frames SMOL-71 as an approximate express method. Neither source documents a modern Ukrainian standardization sample. The app must disclose that limitation and must not transfer the 2023 Mini-Mult-U validation claims to this mode. ### VERDICT — IMPLEMENTABLE: YES AS A HISTORICAL RECONSTRUCTION Implement as: **«Міні-мульт (СБОО) — за методичним посібником НДЦ ГП ЗСУ, 2016 (адаптація В. П. Зайцева, 1981)»** — not as the 2023 «Mini-Mult-U». Required UI disclosures: - express screening instrument, not equivalent to the full MMPI/СМІЛ-566 and not a medical, neurological, or psychiatric examination (МОЗ № 464/2006 framing); - sex-specific M/SD values are those printed in the 2016 manual; the standardization sample is undocumented and there is no modern Ukrainian population re-standardization; - the exact printed integer K lookup is used instead of independently rounding its fractional coefficients, and displayed T scores are rounded to the nearest integer; - validity scales of the 71-item form under-detect invalid profiles relative to the full MMPI (Gayton et al., 1975, PMID 16367322) — reinforce the screening-only framing. Data secured in this file: 71/71 printed UA items (the runtime normalizes the documented item 70 grammar slip), 11/11 scale keys (cross-verified against 4 independent sources), K-correction formula + canonical lookup, sex-specific M/δ for all 11 scales + linear T formula (two-source digit-exact agreement), validity conventions, and condensed high/low interpretation guidance.
